If I could only find my mittens that are like this, being in a cold house where the pilot light is out wouldn't feel so bad! Oh how I hate winter!!!!

Tomorrow my dad will be 56... I can hardly believe it. He was once asked how old he really felt and he said "25". I'm starting to think you feel and think the age you had the best time in your life at. My favorite year was 23. And sometimes I'm just as amazed and some people are to find out I'm 29! It just sounds so old.
Every year on my dad's birthday we have bread pudding for dessert. The first year I made it I miss read the directions and poured a lot more bourbon in the bread pudding then needed. After that year we've always pour a little extra. You just can't beat it.

Curtain LOVE

Ben and I are starting to work on our office. I'm going for an industrial feel. We bought a desk from Ikea, a new light from West Elm (my favorite) and painted the walls ivory with one wall chalkboard black. Now I'm working on finding a curtain that will go with this room. I came across this shower curtain that I love! I realize that its a shower curtain but sometimes the best curtains are shower curtains.

Beard Beanies

Ben and I aren't really doing presents this year, BUT..... I just purchased this cool beard/hat combo for him for Christmas! I think its totally fun and its what he wanted so I'm excited to see his face on Christmas morning when he opens it!

BW and I spent the weekend in Minneapolis. We first headed up there to register at Crate and Barrel, but luckily we were able to see the new addition of the Morgart clan Ms Eva! Such a cutie pie! Excited to watch her grow. We went to dinner at Urban Eatery by Lake Calhoun and I had the shrimp tacos which seemed to be a theme for me this weekend. We spent the evening with Sarah and Zach chatting it up over dinner and drinks with a great view. I absolutely recommend.
The next morning BW and I headed to the Cupcake Cafe. One of my favorites in the city and I had a cupcake to go. We then hit up Anthropolgie and then lunch at Tin Fish which again I had the fish Tacos! I enjoyed every bit of our trip and can't wait to head back up in that direction!

I'm loving this for the back drop to a wedding! I've been working on getting fabric for some type back drop that I had envisioned for our wedding. This helps in the process of getting what I had envisioned out and having my mother on the same page.

Progress!

0.jpg" />

This weekend a lot got started. The fence has begun! Although yesterday was not the day to start it, we (Ben) did it anyways! Yesterday was so hot and just watching it being put up was making me sweat. Poor Ben! I decided to start taking recipes from magazines and actually make them instead of drooling over them. This is one of the recipes that I made yesterday and both Ben and I really enjoyed it! I'll add the recipe at the bottom, but that dang Real Simple was totally right it was real Simple.

My order from Shop Sweet Lulu came today. I ordered some of those fabulous paper striped straws in red and white to match my kitchen. Also I ordered 2 36" balloons to see if the colors will work for my wedding. Can't wait to have them blown up and see the actual size of them and if when the balloons are blown up the colors go a little bit better and look a little more neutral!

Recipe- Enjoy*

I'm not a dog lover, but I'm learning to love this one. She smells funny, she isn't great at listening and she gets black fur on everything. BUT.... She is a really great dog and so adorable.! MEET LAKAI

Wedding idea

I'm loving these balloons and I think this would be a great piece going down the steps at the reception hall we are having our wedding at. Plus the color works with my color scheme.

Here it Goes....

I'm been contemplating blogging for awhile, attempted twice and now its on. I have a lot going on and I need a place to be creative and share my finds. Lately Ben and I have been brainstorming patios ideas in our backyard. I've always pictures a quaint patio that was perfect for late night dinner parties that was lit by a ton of table candles. With this weekend known for grilling out, this seems like the perfect time to get this patio started. I'm too embarrassed to post a before picture of what our backyard. Neither Ben or I will claim it, so it seems best to wait till its done and then show you what we were living with.
